Brahman Cattle Breeding at Lucky H

Why Brahmans?

Brahman cattle are known for their exceptional hardiness, intelligence, and calm temperament, making them a standout breed for both ranching and breeding programs. They thrive in hot, humid climates thanks to their heat tolerance, insect resistance, and strong immune systems. Renowned for longevity and maternal instincts, Brahman cows are excellent mothers and produce resilient, fast-growing calves. Their genetics add value worldwide, improving herd quality through strength, adaptability, and efficiency.

Scooter

Scooter, our first Brahman bull handpicked by V8 Ranch, quickly became a gentle giant at Lucky H. Known for his calm and gentle nature, Scooter is not only a joy to work with—able to be ridden, lay down on command, and loved by everyone—but he’s also proven to be a foundational bull, setting the standard for our herd’s exceptional offspring.

Furblur “Furbs”

Furblur was the first cow we brought to Lucky H, and she quickly became a cherished member of our herd. With her gentle demeanor and strong maternal instincts, Furblur set the foundation for our Brahman cattle operation. Her presence and quality have played a pivotal role in shaping the excellence of our herd.

When Furblur joined us, she was unknowingly pregnant by a V8 bull, and a few months later, Hiccup was born, becoming the first heifer born at Lucky H. With her arrival, Hiccup symbolizes the next generation of our herd, carrying forward the legacy of quality and care that we cherish. Her presence marks an exciting new chapter in our farm’s journey.

We recently welcomed Pretzel to Lucky H, and she’s already making a remarkable impact. Pretzel brings the prestigious Liberty line from JD Hudgins into our breeding program, making her an exciting and valuable addition to our herd. We’re thrilled to see the excellence and quality she’ll bring to Lucky H.
